A credit report is a record maintained by consumer reporting agencies covering your accounts, payment history, balances, inquiries, and public records. Lenders use it to assess how you have managed credit over time.
Utilization compares the balances you carry to your available credit. Carrying high balances relative to your limits weighs on your profile, and lowering them is often one of the faster levers available to you.
We read your reports together, explain what each section means, note anything inaccurate or unfamiliar, and give you a written set of next steps. It takes about 30 minutes and involves no hard inquiry.
Reviewing each of your three reports at least once a year is a reasonable baseline, and more often if you are preparing for a major application or recovering from identity theft.
Reading about it only gets you so far.
